Over 25 years ago the Lord laid on Ruth Ann's heart and spirit to come to Mexico. Though this was not her plan, to remain faithful to Him and follow his lead, she came, with the thought to only stay one year. Ruth Ann then spent the next 25 years here, working with children. She founded the daycare center called La Huerta Guarderia located in Las Misiones, at the IDT Dome missions base to offer a safe, loving environment to children of local agriculture workers who otherwise might be left home alone or in the care of another small child during the day. After many years of faithful service to the people of Baja California, Ruth Ann went home to be with our Lord in 2017. The Daycare remained open but in 2020 was closed due to the Covid Pandemic and unfortunately, will remain closed indefinitely due the increasing difficulty to conform to local regulations for childcare facilities. Though we are unable to obtain the license required to operate as a daycare, the daycare building will continue to be used for children’s outreach ministry.
